To get respite from your hectic life, a little bit of entertainment could indeed work wonders. TV is a viable source for such a recreation and with the availability of TV tuner cards, you can comfortably view your favorite TV shows right on your personal computer. Alongside giving you the facility to watch all the popular channels, these TV tuners also eviscerate you from making extra expenditures on buying a TV.
Broadly speaking, there are two types of TV tuner cards, namely external tuner cards and internal tuner cards.
Internal tuner cards: If you want a tuner card that could fit comfortably inside your computer (pci tv tuner cards), internal tuner cards are the best ones. You can insert them in the PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) slot of the computer’s motherboard following which you will need to install the requisite drivers and software available in the accompanying CD. Multifarious functions of these types of tuner cards include recording, snapshot capture, remote, timeshift, FM radio and much more.
External tuner cards:
You can keep these Tuner cards on the table and connect them to your computer from outside along with the other desired peripheral devices. Once the connections are completed, you are free to enjoy your preferred TV channels. Like the external tuner, this one also comes with a remote and alongside saves considerable electricity.
Drawbacks
Both types of TV tuner cards have quite a few disadvantages as well. For example, an internal TV tuner card would need you to wait until Windows loads on your computer, only then the installed software will start.
Simultaneously, with an external TV tuner card, you won’t be able to record TV shows or take snapshots. By evaluating the pros and cons of both these tuner card types, you can make up your mind to zero-in on the most preferred one.
Both the internal and external TV tuner cards have their own plus and minus points. However, it is a fact they help you to enjoy your favorite TV shows right on your computer. Depending on their varied features, you can buy the most preferable one as per your suitability.
