The internet's obsession with the US election is continuing, but the collapse of Lehman Brothers and some clever kitties are also hot this week. These fired Lehman workers might have lost their jobs, but two male jokers - rumoured to be from the Howard Stern show - ham up their efforts to console each other for the cameras , while the oblivious news reporter continues delivering his piece to camera....

£5bn rap video Amid all the media excitement about Big Bang Day , we've been trying to pin down precisely what it's all costing British taxpayers. It's not easy. The official website of the Large Hadron Collider says: " How much does the LHC cost and who pays? The direct total LHC project cost is £2.6bn, made up of: the collider (£2.1bn), the detectors (£575m). The total cost is shared mainly by CERN's...

Time for a little levity.. and a little science. Via the Guardian’s Ian Sample who spotted it here. As I noted previously , the Guardian’s had some great articles on the Large Hadron Collider at Cern. And as Ian says, “Yes, it’s a rap about particle physics, yes it mentions antimatter and the Higgs boson , but you know what? I quite like it. There, I said it.” And you know what? So do I. Enjoy the...

CERN's Large Hadron Collider "explained" via the medium of rap, hmmmm... Catchy? If the LHC works we may discover more about the fundamentals of everything and the earliest moments after the big-bang. If the LHC goes wrong then the whole universe could disappear... The 10th of September could be a memorable day, one way or the other.

CERN is conducting an underground launch of their Large Hardon Collider which will basically create a small version of the big bang in order for us to understand how matter was created after the explosion happened. It could potentially help answer many questions about our universe; however, a professor is saying that there is a possibility of creating a black hole on earth that could potentially turn...
