Some history first, I think. When Iain Gray was elected as leader of Labour’s MSPs, he stated that he would support the government in all ways he could. Now, in the intervening months, I assume he’s been looking very hard at this indeed, but unfortunately for Iain’s veracity, there’s de’il the sign of any co-operation at all. In fact, it’s been pretty venomous stuff, and not all of it accurate. (I’ve...

OK, as Iain Gray has now ripped up the 2007 Labour manifesto, are we now to assume that Labour is not going to: Give children access to language tuition from Primary three onwards. or Introduce 500 extra modern language teachers and teaching assistants. ... in the unlikely event that they hold power in the foreseeable future?

Iain Gray would be on much firmer ground when asking questions of Alex Salmond, if he had some policies of his own. So when he had a go yesterday over the LIT, and took great pleasure in outlining who evidently opposed it, he really didn’t touch on the facts that: Iain doesn’t like the Council Tax either and has promised to ‘amend’ it. He hasn’t yet come up with what he’s going to do to make it fairer...

It is not, in truth, the direct responsibility of Iain Gray. However, it's less than wonderful news for him, either. His local Labour Party has been suspended . It's all the result of a stand off between East Lothian Constituency and the party's National Executive Committee over the reselection of Anne Moffat MP. For me, it also revives the issue of the internal voting system within the Labour Party....

During FMQs yesterday, two things became apparent. The first was that Johann Lamont, Labour DeputyDawg, is no Iain Gray in terms of her forensic questioning techniques. Unfortunately, as Iain himself is no Alex Salmond, this puts Johann a fair steg down the parly food chain. Maybe she can hold a tune, though, like her namesakes Bach and Strauss. Being a hit at the Labour conference karaoke bar makes...

Feeling better now, so it's on to some positive stuff. A few months ago, in one of his regular pieces of scaremongering, Iain Gray decided to put the frighteners on his constituents by claiming that central heating systems weren't being supported by the SNP government. So it's a genuine pleasure to advise that not only are we continuing the programme, we're expanding it to take car of families on income...

I'm deeply in the debt of Scottish Tory Boy for alerting me to this gem from Wednesday's super soaraway Scottish Sun. Features writer Matt Bendoris has gone to Holyrood to meet the new leader of Scottish Labour, but little does Iain Gray realise that he's about to be on the end of a hatchet job... LABOUR chief Iain Gray is halfway through a very long and boring tale when I lose the will to live. We...
