Gordon Brown is lying when he claims the choice is between 'Labour investment and Tory cuts'. Everyone knows that his is lying, public, press, fellow members of the government, and in this case the porkies are so blatant that this issue is fast becoming the Prime Minister's lack of honesty rather than the state of the economy. Matters haven't stopped there, however, with government ministers trying...

When I started this blog, I kept in mind that I had/have political ambitions, so I refrained from swearing, I refrained from personal attacks on any politicians (like Harriet Harman sending her kids to grammar schools, but not supporting the grammar school system), and I certainly didn't combine the two to say something like "that complete bastard Ed Balls". However, I've come to the conclusion...

Unless there is the political comeback to end them all, Labour is heading out of office and David Cameron's Conservatives in. Previous political seismic shifts have been preceded by the opposition coming up with a clear ideology.

The Conservative MP Bill Cash , who achieved notoriety by claiming for a supposed second home that on closer investigation turned out to in fact be a flat in London's pricey Notting Hill inhabited by his daughter (big thanks for that one, daddy!), has been reselected as an MP by his constituency Conservative party and as such will once again stand for Stone in S taffordshire come the General Election...

Alan Duncan was reported to have ‘flipped’ his mortgage to his second home in Rutland in 2004, which has allowed him to claim £1,400 a month in expenses to cover the interest. The senior MP, who has been appointed by David Cameron to clean up Conservative MPs’ claims for expenses, has himself claimed £63,000 in mortgage interest [...]

The Telegraph expenses machine grinds relentlessly onward. It is taking me some time to overcome my distress at the news that Jeffrey Donaldson MP is having to repay £555 which he claimed for hotel pay-for-view films . Will he let us know the titles of these films? As taxpayers I think we are entitled to know, given that we have loaned him 555 quid for months. Dear little Georgie Osbourne, all...

Only the other day we had ConservativeHome spouting some nonsense about Cameron's Downing Street West Wing , with a chart designed by that well known oxymoron ConservativeIntelligence. As many people will know, Iain Dale, a keen admirer of The West Wing , likes to compare himself with the fictional Josh Lyman, and often refers to himself as David Davis' former Chief of Staff . It's sad really. As Marina...

Today sees a march of gay pride through London with various dignatories clamouring to be seen and heard indicating their support for the march and all it holds dear. I wonder how many would run to join the tail end of a straight pride march if any such thing was conceived? I find the whole thing rather negative. It does not help that the stereotypical camp gays will be the ones that the press will...

An investigation has been launched George Osborne’s expenses. The Shadow Chancellor has been accused of ‘flipping’ his designated second home from London to his Cheshire farmhouse. It is alleged this occurred when he took out a £450,000 mortgage on the property, which was nearly £5,000 more than the price of the house. A Labour Party activist has claimed that he made expenses...
