Since former minister Rhodri Glyn Thomas was air brushed from a picture of the Cabinet, the Welsh Assembly Government has been busy updating its photographs on their website. As well as posting an up to date Cabinet photo, there's also a complete Welsh Assembly Government shot. The usual suspects are in the photo - First Minister, Deputy First Minister, Counsel General, Ministers and Deputy Ministers....

A reader pointed me in the direction of a Daily Post column from last month where writer Tom Boden commented on Adam Price's Assembly ambitions, ending his piece with: "But as we are at it, how about Carmarthen East AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas - of the lit cigar pub scandal - deciding to stand down from the Assembly, swapping his candidate's role with Mr Price, who could then sweep into Cardiff Bay? You...

Martin Shipton seems to think that Adam Price's wish to be an AM will "inevitably puts a question mark over the future of former Heritage Minister Rhodri Glyn Thomas, who represents the same Carmarthen East & Dinefwr constituency at the Assembly." Well, not really Martin. Rhodri Glyn made a gaffe which led to him resigning as Heritage Minister, but lighting up in a pub hardly merits giving up a

Continued from Part 1 Let me explain. As far as I can see there were three truly substantial things being offered on the matter of the Welsh language in the One Wales agreement: a daily paper, a Federal College and a Legislative Competence Order that would give the Assembly the right to pass a Measure strengthening the staus of the language. Concerning the last of these, the new legislative

Part One of a translation of an article by Professor Richard Wyn Jones in the current edition of Barn: Recently readers of Golwg got to read a powerful letter by the Assembly Member for Arfon, and Deputy Leader of the Plaid Cymru group in Cardiff Bay, Alun Ffred Jones. The message of the letter was a warning to Welsh nationalists among them. It referred to the satirical remark by Brendan Behan

Bob Innes has a very good point. Have the Assembly Government been photoshopping photographs on their website ? This photograph used to include Rhodri Glyn Thomas on the right handside but he has been cropped out. Somebody has obviously taken George Orwell's 1984 home for their summer reading. The Ministry of Truth lives on in the Welsh Government.

This is a photograph from the National Assembly website Its one of my favourite websites. One of the things I have noticed is that Rhodri-Glyn Thomas used to be in this photograph! For those who are reading this blog outside of Wales. Rhodri resigned his position as Heritage Minister for smoking a cigar inside a pub. Yes he did. He used to be standing to the left of Ieaun Wyn Jones and Brian Gibbon....

Where to you go to spot a trio of Culture Ministers in one day? To the National Eisteddfod, where Alun Ffred Jones was getting on with a job his predecessors, Rhodri Glyn Thomas and Alun Pugh, found rather hard to make a go of. I'm moonlighting for a week as ... well, as a bit of everything. The day-job bits I'll tell you about; the singing and reciting I'll spare you. A morning in the studio debating...

Talk of the ill-fated tenure of Rhodri Glyn Thomas as Heritage Minister continues to rumble on, irrespective of the fact that he resigned two weeks ago and that his successor is busily getting his feet under the table, with a letter from author Tom Bullough in this morning's Western Mail . Those with an interest in Welsh politics may recall that Rhodri Glyn boobed in announcing the winner of the Wales...
