Airtrack and North Sheen Crossing

I picked up last week a flyer from the LibDems at North Sheen station, to read that at my great pleasure Susan Kramer has obtained that the footbridge to the South side of the track will be rebuilt. This is not only a practical issue, as with the new train schedules the level crossing in Manor road is down a a lot (read in the RTT: Level crossing bottlenecks choking Richmond , apparently it could be...

Susan Kramer’s Devotion to Duty

There is no greater sacrifice that a politician can make than to speak at a lunch, yet not have time to eat even a mouthful herself. OK, I exaggerate. But that is exactly what Susan Kramer, LibDem MP for Richmond Park, had to do today when she came to talk to the Kettner Lunch at the National [...]

Zac Goldsmith spent £90,000 last year in battle to oust Susan Kramer

It's a small amount compared to the money spent in American elections but most Tory candidates would love to be able to match the £90,000 that Zac Goldsmith spent last year in his bid to become the Conservative MP for...

20 Questions to a Presidential Candidate - Updated

I hope to get the answers to my questions (see below) soon, but in the meantime, wondered if there were other potential presidential candidates I should send them to - Chris Huhne? Chris Rennard? Susan Kramer? So, if you would like to suggest the candidate you would most like to see standing in the upcoming contest, I can include them in my distribution list! My questions are as follows: 1. What motivated...

If I were free this weekend, this is hardly going to make me want to go to Crewe and Nantwich

As The Times puts it , this is hardly Obama's "Yes we can" video. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I think this might be the video I need at home put on a loop to help my son get to sleep at night. It's not Susan Kramer's fault, but the person who decided that 10 seconds of watching the same clip from four different angles really ought to be made to watch it.

“A New Deal for the City: Liberal Democrat Proposals” reviewed

Nick Clegg’s speech to the LibDem City Forum was sufficiently interesting to make the BBC news homepage. Nick acknowledged that Vince wrote it - a deserved tribute to Vince’s credibility. Nick highlighted David Laws, Chris Huhne, and Susan Kramer as evidence that we have “the strongest team of economic expertise in British politics today”. True, [...]

UStream.TV: another first in the bag

On Friday night, Brian Paddick became the first British politician to use UStream.TV for a live question and answer session, broadcast over the internet. The 60 minute session was hosted by Susan Kramer, Liberal Democrat MP for Richmond Park. Taking into account viewers at the time and since, it garnered approaching 1,000 viewers, with the number [...]

EXCLUSIVE: Labour’s new family and immigration policies revealed

Courtesy of a forgetful researcher or MP who, whilst using a Parliament photocopier, left behind a document they really shouldn’t have left behind, we in Liberal Democrat Voice Towers can bring you an exclusive preview of the new family policies Gordon Brown & co are working on. Susan Kramer, the Liberal Democrats’ spokesperson on family issues, [...]

Susan Kramer writes… “the fight on Heathrow expansion is far from over”

The gleaming palace of Terminal 5 at Heathrow will open on March 27th. The British Aviation Authority and British Airways will celebrate. But for others, the day will be a reminder of the misery the Government and BAA plan for the residents of London who live under the Heathrow flightpath - an area that, if [...]

Kramer and Heath walk out of Lib Dem shadow cabinet meeting

According, at any rate, to the Daily Mail's Ben Brogan: My colleague Jane Merrick has learned that Susan Kramer walked out of a “shadow cabinet” meeting this morning in a symbolic show of frustration over the leader’s confused position on an EU referendum. She was followed by David Heath. Bizarrely, Ms Kramer will abstain with Mr [...]

The hidden meaning in Susan Kramer's TV interview

Jailhouse lawyer has read carefully what Susan Kramer said earlier and bizarrely seems to have found what he believes to be the hidden truth in what she was saying. Apparently it is all about lesbians and drugs. Strangely it does make a comic sort of sense.

NEW POLL: Could a job-share leadership work?

Susan Kramer has set up a fascinating ‘What if?’ today, with her revelation on the BBC London Politics Show that she wishes she had contested last year’s Liberal Democrat leadership election – as a job-share with one of her fellow female MPs: I actually feel quite guilty because, you know, we had a leadership election in [...]

The Delusions of Susan Kramer

Today's London section of the Politics Show had an interview with Susan Kramer in which she rather incredibly says she regrets not running for LibDem leader (with the implication that Cleggy isn't up to it'). Even more incredibly she thinks she could have done it as a job share with another female. I guess that's possible, especially if you want to make your party look even more ridiculous. SUSAN...

Cost of childcare discouraging mothers from working - Kramer

Commenting on the Daycare Trust's childcare costs survey published today [Tuesday], Liberal Democrat Families Spokesperson , Susan Kramer said: "The real tragedy behind these numbers is how badly children are being let down. "Childcare costs are now so shockingly high it makes a mockery of encouraging mothers to go out to work. "Ministers should be ashamed of the appallingly low take-up rates of tax...
