Guardian has a Miliband agenda Bob Marshall-Andrews, though an unreconstructed maverick, writes a very entertaining blog, which everyone should read just to cheer themselves up in the morning. Anyway here he is on the subject of writing for the Guardian : "Just had an article urging Brown to go for growth turned down by the Guardian All my articles are turned down by the Guardian but unusually this...

Full coverage of UK politics Prezza's obviously taking to this blogging malarky like a duck to water. Here he is over at Labourhome defending Gordon Brown as the best captain for the good ship Labour Party and (for Prescott, anyway) taking a rather smart little swipe at Bob Marshall-Andrews.

"What has David Miliband ever achieved, apart from furthering his own career? If David Miliband was placed back on the backbenches, then I think he'd become the non-entity that he was before his accelerated promotion." I guess David Miliband isn't on Geraldine Smith's Christmas card list! The MP for Morcambe and Lunesdale certainly doesn't mince her words. Nor does her colleague, Bob Marshall-Andrews:...

Hats off to Geraldine Smith after the Labour backbencher accused the Foreign Secretary of "trying to stir up trouble", and went on to say that 'if he was sacked he would return to being a "nonentity" on the backbenches.' Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Bob Marshall-Andrews, who also hit out at Miligram, refering to his article in yesterday's Guardian as "pretty contemptible politics".

Sky News is reporting that Labour backbenchers Bob Marshall-Andrews and Geraldine Smith have called on Gordon Brown to sack David Miliband for being duplicitous. You've got to laugh. If Chief Whip Geoff Hoon doesn't restore order soon, the consequences for the Labour Party will be catastrophic. I couldn't believe what I was reading in the papers his morning. What on earth did Brown allies think they...

It has taken some time but R&S have readopted Mark Reckless today. Mark fought Bob Marshall-Andrews unsuccessfully at the last two elections but boundary changes mean that the seat now has a projected Conservative majority of 1,501.

It's my contention that David Davis is the new Bob Marshall-Andrews. But is Eric Pickles the new John Prescott? Let's look at the facts. Both men weigh over 20 stone. Both men are outspoken northeners. Both men come from solid working class backgrounds and both men have got egos to match their waistlines. So is Eric Pickles the new John Prescott? Not quite. Eric needs to do more work when it

Yesterday I went up to West Ridings with the irrepressible Bob Marshall Andrews and Shami Chakrabarti to take part in a debate about liberty on the eve of the by-election hosted by David Davis. This is the speech I made. Minus the Leeds United opening gag. Three years ago I was on the way to work when a 19 year old British man detonated a suicide bomb in the carriage I was travelling in, killing 26...

Yesterday I went up to Yorkshire on the eve of the by-election to support the civil liberties debate opened by David Davis. I spoke with the irrepressible Shami Chakrabarti and Bob Marshall Andrews QC and afterwards there was a Q&A in a packed room of constituents followed by a round of interviews. We were boosted by two great pieces of news, firstly, a new poll showing that two thirds of the public...

Basher will be hoping that he can breathe life into his lacklustre campaign today by teaming up with the kohl-eyed avenger and Bob Marshall-Andrews on the Frontline of Freedom (Howden, just off the A63.) As we pointed out before, DD couldn’t even spell his heroine’s name properly - let’s hope he manages to get it right [...]

Labour MP, Bob Marshall-Andrews, is an Honorary Associate of the National Secular Society and a Distinguished Supporter of the British Humanist Association, but despite this, I like his maverick style. He has some honour and sense of fairness: traits not normally associated with many of his colleagues of late. On his official website at epolitix.com, we are reminded of the unceremonious ejection of...

Way back in November I highlighted a little exchange in the House of Commons when both David Davis and Bob Marshall-Andrews had a few things to say about the Queens Speech. At the time I highlighted Bob Marshall-Andrews speech as I thought it was fairly significant that a Labour backbencher would have so much to say about what his Government was proposing. I did highlight that David Davis had

I heard yesterday on the grapevine that Bob Marshall-Andrews and Tony Benn may campaign for David Davis. Today, Marshall-Andrews is quoted as endorsing Davis as a candidate in the absence of a Labour opponent of 42 days. Apparently, the Labour Party rules do NOT stop members campaigning for anyone in the absence of a Labour candidate. Strange but true., The irony is, of course, that only a year ago...

Well this certainly makes Haltemprice and Howden interesting. The Labour rebel MP Bob Marshall-Andrews has apparently said he's going to campaign for David Davis during the forced by-election. That's a big test for Brown authority. Technically he should have the whip withdrawn and be expelled from the party, but as Labour are unlikely to put up a candidate will Brown have the bottle to do it?
