As you can see here Iain Dale's complain against the Daily Mail, over their reference to him as being overtly honosexual costing him the nomination for Bracknell, has been rejected. Quite rightly too. Don't get me wrong. I am not a homophobe. I defend the right of all people to live the lifestyle they choose, to choose the partner they want ,to the very death. These are rights which have been campaigned...

To quote: Nigel Farage has thrown his toys out of his pram, and accused the House of Commons authorities of being "fascistic", after the Commons decided to withdraw Commons passes from serving MEPs. (Iain Dale) Sorry Iain but you are so wrong on this. The BNP are legally elected Ministers whether you like what they say or not, and a lot of people have accepted the fact they were right about...

The news that Iain Dale's complaint against the Daily Mail under clause 12 of the PCC guidelines was not upheld came as a surprise to some In summary The piece reported that the complainant was on the shortlist of people applying to be the Conservative candidate for the parliamentary constituency of Bracknell. It described him as ‘overtly gay', and referred to an interview he had given to Pink...

Like Iain, I was disappointed , but not really surprised. I have not known the PCC to have sharp teeth in dealing with situations like this and Iain's situation is no different. That said, there are some positives to come from this! Iain's situation, and far more to the point the Stephen Gately story, has drawn the spotlight onto the newspaper in a way that it won't appreciate or like. The Daily Mail...

Iain Dale had the story on Friday of how MEPs are now no longer allowed passes for the Houses of Parliament. Basically, this measure was brought in to stop the BNP waltzing around Westminster. What a New Labour way of doing things. Just like immigration, the reason why the BNP exists in the first place, Labour create the problem, then when anything reminds them of their failure, they simply get rid...

Ignore Iain Dale : this is better. Here is Louis Walsh quoted in last Sunday's Observer talking about Boyzone's first single: They had never been in a recording studio before. And the truth is, most of them were never in a recording studio again.

As one commenter to my blog wrote "Yesterday's headlines were "Liz Truss Comes out Fighting" (Iain Dale) and "Liz Truss Wins Over local paper" (Con Home). They should have waited a day for Saturday's EDP ! I think this finally does for Liz. Even Iain Dale cannot spin this one." What the Tory spinners failed to notice (from only looking at the online editions of the EDP)...

Matthew D'Ancona (via Iain Dale ): "It's not even that I am especially sceptical about climate change. It's the sanctimonious style of the green lobby and their ministerial accomplices I cannot stand: the collective smugness that comes with absolute moral certainty of any sort and the readiness to disdain and scorn anyone who dares to dissent, even slightly, from any aspect of the new orthodoxy."...

Iain Dale has, utterly unsurprisingly, some praise for one David Cameron : Geordie Grieg's interview with David Cameron in today's Evening Standard us well worth a skaz. His tremendous likeability comes across well. You just can't imagine Gordon Brown giving an interview like this. In particular, according to the interview Dale cites, Cameron can be praised for adopting a sensible attitude to Boris...

“Isn’t it charming how homosexuals rally like-minded chaps to their cause?” is not a homophobic comment, according to the Daily Mail Support Group aka the Press Complaints Commission, even though it was written by the venomous Peter McKay immediately after referring to the Tory blogger Iain Dale as “overtly gay” for having invited PinkNews readers [...]

At the beginning of October, Iain Dale suddenly noticed that The Mail was not very nice about gay people and put in a complaint to the PCC. Or at least, he noticed that The Mail was not very nice about him, and the focus of their abuse was his sexuality. Anyway, the PCC have issued [...]

Just because they're paranoid ... ... doesn't mean they're entirely wrong Malcolm followed the frothings and maunderings on the Tory web-sites, defending or bemoaning Cameron's U-turn over the Lisbon Treaty. It became v-e-r-y repetitive and v-e-r-y boring. Even so, it had its moments of provocation. It obliged him to re-appraise his own assumptions. The level of mindless abuse First and foremost,...
