The Lib Dems’ deputy leader Vince Cable is the cover star of the December issue of Total Politics, trailing a feature interview with the Tory blogger we all love to name-check, Iain Dale. Here’s a taster: Do you see the Liberal Democrats as a centre-left party? No, I don’t use that description. I know some of my [...]

Ah, yes, Tory expense fiddlers: Decisive Dave smote down upon them with furious anger, didn't he? Unfortunately, he put the wrong person in charge of the clean-up crew: When will it end? The Telegraph has the story tonight of Conservative MP David Curry, the new chairman of the Parliamentary Standards Committee (no, really), has been accused of claiming £30,000 of taxpayers' money to pay for...

Vince Cable has been interviewed by Iain Dale for this month's Total Politics magazine. The full interview is available to read HERE. I love his refreshing honesty in dealing with a question from Iain which seemed to imply that he was inconsistent. Vince, unlike most politicians, simply says that he was proved wrong by the extreme financial mess we were in and he changed his mind accordingly. If only...

Iain Dale: So you don't do what Ming Campbell used to do every morning when he was shaving and think: "God, I wish I'd stood against Charles Kennedy?" Vince Cable: No, absolutely not, I genuinely don't. I quite enjoyed the 'acting leader' period, and did quite well, but I've got a very full role. Read the whole thing in Total Politics .

In amongst all of the fun that is the destruction of the CRU's credibility, there have been some other frabjous stories this week—even so, how could I not have covered the fact that Harpy Harperson is to be prosecuted for her little prang ? Labour deputy leader Harriet Harman is to be prosecuted over a minor car accident near her south London constituency in July. She faces prosecution for allegedly...

Leuven is a town in Belgium. It could well be the home town of the new President of the EU Council, whom Mr Iain Dale, and others have christened Mr Rumpy Pumpy. It is reported in the current edition of Farming News from NFU Cymru that earlier this month, in the town of Leuven, animal rights campaigners released 20,000 pink balls at the HQ of the Belgian Farmer's Union. This 'direct action' was a protest...

There seems to be some anger over the new European appointments but really my impression of the the general mood is just "it could have been worse". Iain Dale sums it up best in saying : No offence to Baroness Ashton and Mr Rumpy Pumpy, but seriously, is that the best they can do? It really is quite pathetic but demonstrates my point that the roles are ridiculous to the extent of impossibility....

The office in the cellar is finally up and running and I at last have a proper desktop to work with. Decided to go dual display vertically for the first time. Quite like it. Good News for Political Pundit West ham fan and celebrity iron hoof Iain Dale today . West Ham are to stock club-branded lingerie following pop star Katy Perry's scantily-clad appearance at the MTV Awards earlier this month. The singer, 25, appeared on stage at the star-studded ceremony in Berlin sporting a claret and blue basque with matching knickers and garter in an ode to her boyfriend and lothario...

Via Iain Dale , I see that Quaequam Blog! has found an upside to the idea that the Press Complaints Commission should regulate blogs. But wait: a thought occurs. If bloggers are to be brought under the PCC, surely we should have seats on the PCC board? And, given the fact that our combined readership is somewhat larger than the newspapers’, shouldn’t we actually have a majority of seats...
