I recieved an email today from a Sidcup resident asking if I would be raising the issue that James Brokenshire, the Conservative candidate for Old Bexley & Sidcup, is (to use their capitalisation) a CAPETBAGGER. Mr Brokenshire hopes to replace disgraced Conservative MP Derek Conway at the next General Election. Essex man Brokenshire was hunting for a seat to replace his present Essex constituency

Former members of British parliament George Galloway and Derek Conway have been hired by Press TV , a state-run Iranian media outlet, to serve as political commentators. Iran, you'll recall, is led by Holocaust deniers who are reportedly on pace to develop a nuclear weapon by the end of next year . There is evil in the world, friends. Some don't get it, some choose not to get it, some are OK with it...

What connects Damian Green and Derek Conway? The incompetence of the Metropolitan Police. In the case of Damian Green they have arrested an MP for doing his job, and I am actually pretty sure they have broken constitutional law in doing it. In the case of Derek Conway, nearly a year after I wrote three letters (the last one to Sir Ian Blair) to them raising the issue of the employment of his sons

I wrote earlier about the publication of a list of MSP's who employ members of their family to help them in their work either in their constituency or research in the Parliament. After Derek Conway there is always going to be suspicions about politicians employing their family but I have to say I don't see an issue here on principle. This story has run and run with the Telegraph and Scotsman getting...

An interesting report from the Scottish Parliament today detailing all the MSP's who employ members of their families. This comes after we already hears about the MP's who employ their family members after the whole Derek Conway scandal. Their are 25 MSP's who employ their family, 19% of them which is less than the quarter in the House of Commons. I wonder why it was that this list was published? The...

So why should that paragon of virtue Derek Conway accuse me of "gutter-politics"? He seems to be upset with me for commenting about his employment by Press TV, a station wholly owned by the Iranian Government, who aren't without their human rights abuses. Press TV's Wikipedia page is locked at the moment, due to what seems to be attempts by them to cover up their coverage of Holocaust Denial.

Having claimed plenty of money from the British taxpayer, Conservative MP Derek Conway (he paid his sons with public funds while they were at university) is now on the payroll of the Iranian government. He's taken a job with state-funded Press TV, presenting an arts review programme from Ealing. From Pendennis in the Observer today

Sara Bedford indulges in a brief moment of very true black humour. Her point is so true. Any Tory crosses the line, such as Ian Oakley or Derek Conway, they kick them out and then exclaim "but he is not one of us!". But the truth is on each occasion, he was when he committed his sins. If you keep washing your hands with strong disinfectant you will get a rash.

So Harriet Harman has come up with a typical New Labour answer to the Derek Conway affair. Ban MPs from employing their kids. Typical New Labour. Instead of addressing the issue, ban something! The solution should be that MPs should only employ staff on merit (and I actually think the best person to run their office is their spouse). Also the issue isn't that Conway's sons worked for him. The

I am getting a bit sick of the Tories chucking people out of their party, Derek Conway, Ian Oakley. Both get the "He is no longer a Conservative so we can't comment". They were both Conservatives when they committed their offences, so you can't wash your hands of them. And Iain Dale is being all pious today but just a brief look at the comments he allowed to be published on his blog when this
