Dun pray pray it's the minister's residence

Just a few days back I drove passed a house in Bukit Timah area and noticed Gurkha guards patrolling the area. My friend told me the house belonged to a Singapore minister. He must be a hotshot minister otherwise he would be having the local police guarding his house and not Gurkha. I told my friend to be on the best behaviour otherwise we might get into trouble. This minister house and the Gurkha...

They were composed largely of Thakuri, Magar and Gurung men which fought the British in 1769 an again in the 1814-16 Anglo-Nepal war. An evening out

Ang and I went to the Gurkha restaurant on Poole quay on Thursday with Helen and Graham. Lee came over and dog sat for us and we caught the train to Poole at 6.36. It was raining when we got to Poole so we took a taxi. The taxi driver put us off going by saying she hadn’t heard any good reviews about the place. We were early so went in and got a table and a drink each. I had a sweet and salty...

The streets were much as explected, narrow, very busy, with a mass of people going about their business. You had be very mindful of the mopeds and motorcycles speeding up behind you sounding their horns! The street...
