Well big fucking surprise, Labour won all three Bettws By-election seats. Yes the pond scum on that sink estate - think lower Gaza without the UN to keep the peace - decided that they needed to ensure that their benefits keep on flowing. Those dependant on the state will vote for the state... St Julians voted Lib Dem, it might be worth noting that more people in St Juliins get up of a morning to go...

Despite the mass cull of red from the political map of the UK, the elections are still not over here in Newport. Newport Council is still six seats short of a full election result. This is because of the deaths of two sitting councilors who were both standing for re-election. The two wards affected are Bettws ans St Julians. John of Gwent has done a rather good bit on this. There are two more ward in which a candidate has died, forcing the postponement of the local elections due on 1 May. Flintshire county council: Hope division. Stuart Brown, who was an Independent candidate, has died. Newport city council: Bettws ward. Incumbent Labour councillor Edward Delahaye has died.
