Tornado hits Newport A MINI-TORNADO hit Newport yesterday, damaging at least two homes. Slates were torn off roofs as the 80mph gust blew through Haisbro Avenue, St Julians at 4.10pm. Not really a tornado then. A strong gust that pulled off a couple of tiles. What's the estimated cost of the damage? A hundred quid?
