Minor only in size and population, St Kilda, it has to be said, is a beautiful and rather poignant collection of islets in the Western Isles, or Eilean Siar, to give them their Gaelic name.

Well 'Eranu' ive just been watching shooting stars. Some guy was hanging his nuts in puddings. Weird but funny. Strangely Jack Dee was also doing standup on the other side which wasnt bad. Meanwhile the Scottish Government have been showboating. They have been debating whether Basset the Bomber should have been released or not? Is it just me or does this beg the question why didnt they do this first?...

Then follow the river down the coast, past the house of Roy Keane, Ipswich Town's new manager, and you come to Chelmondiston. That's where you'll find "St Kilda", the home of Norman John Gillies, the last of the islanders...

2009 is the year of the Homecoming when Scotland encourages its diaspora to visit their homeland. Few visits can be as poignant as that of Mr Norman John Gillies who is the last living survivor of the community on St Kilda, which was evacuated in 1930.BBCNorman is a sprightly 84 year old who was 5 years old when St Kilda was evacuated.BBCHis mother Mary Gillies developed appendicitis while she

The archipelago of St Kilda, the remotest part of the British Isles, lies 41 miles (66 kilometres) west of Benbecula in Scotland's Outer Hebrides. Its islands with their exceptional cliffs and sea stacs form the most important seabird breeding station in north-west Europe. Hat tip to an all seeing eye for this one. So, who would have figured that climate change is shrinking sheep in Scotland? Scientists first began studying Soay sheep, on the island of Hirta in the St Kilda archipelago, in 1985. Since then, the sheep have decreased in size by 5% - their legs getting steadily shorter and their body weight decreasing. This strange phenomenon was first reported in 2007,...
