Massive superiority in terms of winning the ball in the danger area should have given tourists a big win – but didn't Statistics can be fickle little beasties but there is one that normally says everything about a game: the number of times a side wins ball in the opposition 22. Scotland managed it nine times, which is a lowly number, and may explain why they only scored nine points. One point...
Dundee United are sitting in fourth place just five points off Celtic and the hosts will give their best in order to hurt Celtic’s title bid. The Bhoys slipped from the top of the standings after the 3:3 draw with bottom-placed Falkirk, with the match showing they were in big problems. Is Craig Levein in line for Scotland job? Dundee United boss Craig Levein is one of the most talented managers...
SCOTLAND v AUSTRALIA:SINCE SCOTLAND have not beaten Australia since 1982, they may be a bit surprised to find themselves within the same status brackets. But there they are, both deemed to be improving, which is no mean achievement at a time when just about everybody else is being lumped together as dull as ditchwater.
Some more pics of the Scotland vs Fiji game (out of 500 taken on the day). Despite the stadium lights, it was pretty dull as far as the camera was concerned and in the second half I had to up the ISO rating to 1,600-2,500 in order to get a shutter speed of around 1/1000 sec (at f2.8). This creates lots of noise and results in pics that are not quite as sharp as usual.

The River Tay by Newburgh North Fife November 18th. A dreich day, dull, murky, cold, wet of a kind that finds ageing joints without much feeling good factor. We have had huge rainfalls along with the rest of the UK leaving much standing water on the land and on the road to Newburgh springs have erupted forcing up the tarmacadam creating ever deeper holes assisted by road traffic. In the second of two pieces about my recent trip to Scotland, I have a little of the highland countryside to share with you. The day following the visit to Chanonry Point was devoted to a drive into Glen Elg. The weather was much less reliable than it had been the day before and the first stop of the day, to take in the Map of Scotland view at the western end of Loch Garry, was rather overcast ...

In early 2007 I joined Niall Benvie a Scottish Wildlife Photographer for three days and got some nice images. Niall's knowledge on the whereabouts and habits of the wildlife were of great benefit. Had I not joined his photographic...
