High land, hard rain

The work thing I was supposed to be doing in Galashiels wasn't cancelled. I'm sitting on the train from Glasgow to London now, listening to "Petrococadollar" by Scritti Politti, watching the Scottish countryside roll by. It's very calm. I travelled to Glasgow on Thursday afternoon, and was delighted to be met by neil_scott , femme_latale , zagreb2 and majea - we ate veggie burgers in a cafe...

Along the back of the village is a usually wee burn or stream, but today IT'S A RAGING TORRENT!! It's wiped out a few wooden...

Back to the Land of Make and Do

I'm back into the swing of things this week - after my short relaxing break, I've now got to get back to the land of make and do. I have finally posted the last parcel off to another retail outlet, the last order from Aviemore Trade Show. This is the reason I put my feet up for a short while - it was a relief to get all the orders done. Recently I have had enquiries from retail outlets (in other areas)...

Mark Hix: Fochabers gingerbread

I do love the names of some of these regional dishes; Fochabers is a place between Inverness and Peterhead, in the very north of Scotland ? a country renowned for its tea-time treats such as scones, breads and pastries. This gingerbead differs from most others in that it contains dried fruit.
