Neither the PM nor the future king are good at letting people tell them what they don't want to hear The most telling anecdote I encountered this week was tucked away in a newspaper feature about Prince Charles, or President-elect Glücksburg , as republican readers may prefer to think of him. There was a lesson in the story for all of us, including you, Gordon. What happened was this. The Times...
Aye! It's a small world alright. A few weeks back Shep was left reeling in shock - on more than one count. Firstly a 'phone call from Cornwall, now that's away down south somewhere, not far from Lands End seemingly and they have sheep down there! Apparently some neighbours were holidaying in a farm cottage in Cornwall and the farmer mentioned he was looking for someone to lamb for him, name and 'phone...
These Ghosts are all from Scotland. Wick, Ed, Ted and Fred are a single candle from John o'Groats. Inset, from Inverness, Jasper, Casper and Spooky. Jasper is trying to look like Casper who can scare effortly. Spooky is just down right cute no matter what he does :)
Congratulations to Andy Cullen, who has completed his Land’s End to John O’Groats charity bike ride “despite a hurricane, 30% gradients, dodgy knees, a suicidal badger, and Scotland’s wettest day for sixty years”! Intrigued? Check out Andy’s JustGiving and Flickr sites for more details… Well done, Andy! &… xxx

Streams fallen in: 1 Midge bites: 519 Andy was driving back to Warrington today so I left my car at our lovely campsite in Middleton and Andy dropped me at Tan Hill to walk back to the tent. The guidebook told me that in bad weather, Sleightholme Moor can be a dangerous place. It’s been a scorcher of a day so I decided to stick with the moor path and not take the bad weather alternative route....
We love Over the Wall 's video for their latest track "Thurso": (Thurso is the last town you come to before you reach John O'Groats at the Northern-most tip of Scotland, by the way!) [via CR Blog ]
I made it to London from John O’ Groats – “Joglon” – a couple of weeks ago, but there was a missing link in the journey. I took an unplanned recovery day on the Edinburgh-Morpeth leg. Having been back up in Scotland for the last week for the Scottish 6 Days orienteering races, I had a [...]
As some of you may know, Malc and his friend Audrey are running the Loch Ness Marathon in just 61 days' time to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society Scotland. I am supposed to be Chief Spin Doctor, er, I mean Publicist for this effort and was conscious that while they have been training hard, I've not done a huge amount for them. They did get some press coverage in Malc's home local paper,...
