I've mentioned before that my sister is on a vacation here in the UK. She's been globetrotting in Europe for the past 2 months and I thought it's about time we do some traveling in the UK instead. As you know from our previous posts, we just got back from a 3-day weekend break in Scotland. We spent the first 2 days exploring places around Edinburgh and the last day in Edinburgh itself. We took a plane...

The biggest thing to happen was the visit my Mom and Dad made during the October break. They were here for about a week, and spent 4 days with us here in Scotland. So we enjoyed showing them around the sights, which included...

I might have a glass of beer (Free subscription) | 05/11/2009
People often say that organic beer is boring and dull. More generous souls might say it's inevitably compromised, because the organicness takes priority over the beer being fantastic. Indeed, it's a bit suspect when the most interesting thing a brewery has to say about its beer is that it's organic. We've all encountered the sad selection of two or three beers in wholefood shops, bought one or more...

Spent the weekend in Scotland 'Munro Bagging' (for the uneducated out there the 288 approx mountains over 3000 feet in Scotland). After a very windy attempt on Saturday (70mph winds) we abandoned the hill for a fantastic drive through Glen Coe and cold beer by a roaring fire. On the Sunday we were raring to go and climbed Ben Ghlas and Ben Lawers by 2pm. It was fantastic spending some quality time...
