Hello, It almost seems to good to be true but could the Labour reign of corruption in Scotland finally be drawing to a close? I don't want to get too cocky as I'm still not convinced they'll lose Glasgow East -although I'm pretty certain their majority will be drastically reduced. Anyway today's papers have come up with a carnival of Labour crooks and buffoons for the despair and amusement of the masses....

The signs are that the commentators are hedging their bets just a little over the stakes in the Glasgow East by-election. They’re probably waiting for a rash of opinion polls on the impact of Labour’s preferred candidate refusing the increasingly high fence. In the Scottish steeple chase, is the former champion rider Gordon Brown about to be toppled? As Scotland in Sunday reports, Labour are now feverishly...

James McAvoy may not be a target of the paparazzi, but after Wanted, he could soon hit the gossip magazines. The Last King of Scotland may have won the Glasgow-born actor awards and respect, but shooting guns with Angelina Jolie could make him a bona fide Hollywood star. McAvoy, a classically trained actor (at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama), plays Wesley Gibson, an average guy who

Were an Angel candidate for the Glasgow East Westminster Parliament seat the automatic closing down of the selection process because of the absence of another hopeful might be taken as a hint that Angels were not wanted by the New Labour regime. Doug Maughan and Irene Graham (not Angels, most certainly not) left meekly after 'giving their agreement' to the suspension of the selection meeting when family...

After going to Glasgow and visiting Fiona in Ayre I spent a few days in Edinburgh. Yet another beautiful city and I am in love with the castle. I stayed within the Old Town and was fascinated by the creepy stories so I did a City of the Dead tour... was a little disappointed that I didn't experience any supernatural phenomenon but I did have an unusual thing happening with my watch it would

Just three and a half weeks after moving to Edinburgh to take up my new post as Deputy Director of Campaigns for Scotland, I find myself involved in another major election campaign! We have selected born and bred Glaswegian Ian Robertson as our candidate to fight the by-election, and although the media are saying it is [...]

There is a good article in Glasgow's Sunday Herald this week focusing on the state of Scotland's smaller breweries in the aftermath of the acquisition of Arran Brewery from its administrators by an investment firm, Marketing Management Services. In the last ten years a scene that boasted fewer than ten breweries now boasts 52 with a resulting increase in choice and also serves as a neat example of...
