I needed to leave home early this morning for the organized National Trust walk near Greyabbey in County Down. The walk began at nine o'clock, our meeting-point being the car park just south of the village. We were, yet again, blessed with fine weather (20c).More than a dozen turned up for the walk. Craig, the Strangford Lough warden, led the group. I only recognized one other person but it was good...

Now that Ian Paisley has stepped down as leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, one hopes that Iris Robinson may retire soon. The bigoted MP for Strangford has called for homosexuals to seek counselling. According to the DUP's website, Iris is a big fan of interior design. If she carries on this way, it'll be curtains for her.
