Cumberland man gets top police job in Manchester, Conn.

CUMBERLAND, R.I. -- A man who grew up in Cumberland has been named chief of police of Manchester, Conn., beating out 35 candidates for the job. Marc Montminy has served with the Manchester police since 1989, becoming captain in 2003 and deputy chief in late 2007, the Hartford Courant reported Wednesday.
