Well we're now back from Cornwall after a largely cold, wet and windy week. We were staying just on the edge of Bodmin Moor but because of the weather didn't get the chance for any proper walks there. But despite the weather we had a great time. Amongst other things we visited the lovely Tintagel and its castle, the Arthurian Centre near Camelford, Bodmin, the Eden Project, Padstow, the famous Jamaica...

Two former clay quarries on Bodmin Moor are being transformed into huge reservoirs by South West Water. Stannon Lake and Park Lake will form two of the largest reservoirs in Cornwall and help secure future water supplies for the county.

Daphne du Maurier fans might recognise this building on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall as none other than Jamaica Inn. Yes, it's the very inn which inspired the 1936 novel of the same name. The inn was once a coaching house that smugglers used as a base for their crimes. Ms du Maurier apparently sought refuge...

The canvas revolution continues. Sitting beneath Bodmin Moor, Belle Tents Camping is a colourful encampment of six sleeping tents and three kitchen tents, all pre-erected and embarrassingly well kitted out: double-beds, rugs, fridges, cookers, lighting and electricity, and all served up with a relaxed Cornish attitude.
