There are summer fetes and fairs everywhere at the moment. I love things like that ( which I suppose is a good thing, being a candidate) - and I invariably leave with a bag of stuff I had told myself I wouldn't buy: odds and ends and usually crockery from bric-a-brac stalls ( you can get some real bargains on those stalls ) and the inevitable home-made cake. I particularly like the idea of a street-fair,...

Jesus' General (Free subscription) | 3 hours ago
Please join me in welcoming Gov. Sarah Palin as she guests posts at Jesus General once again -- JC Ok, there's been a lot of speculation in the liberal, secular press about why I decided to set the State of Alaska free. Some are saying it's because I'm under investigation for getting my house built for next to nothing in return for granting construction contracts. Those people are wrong, and I'm going...

Makes sense to me (H/T: Cold Fury ): In states far from the national spotlight, politics still attracts normal people. You're a mayor or a state senator or even the governor, but you lead a normal life. The local media are tough on you, but they know you, they live where you live, they're tough on the real you, not on some caricature cooked up by a malign alliance of late-night comics who'd never heard...

Palin Campaign 2008 (Free subscription) | yesterday
From Kansas City.com : The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Bristol Palin ’s baby daddy is shopping a book about Bristol, her mama Sarah – now the lame-duck governor of Alaska – and their family. The Post got the news from Levi’s bodyguard/publicist, Tank . “There are still many untold stories about the Palins,” said Tank, who said that until the tell-all...

Hello there, it's Diohandi again! I am now confidently walking, so nothing can be left at my level, or else it will vanish when you're not looking! I also run off with whatever I have managed to confiscate, so I basically give myself away and am caught red-handed! This week only, I actually learnt to pick myself up from the ground. Up until this week, despite the fact that I walk, if I fell down, I...

Here in Bristol we like to have lots of parties and get pissed up on Cider, Red Stripe and Rum as soon as the summer kicks in. The best party of all in my opinion is Saint Pauls Carnival. I only went down there for a couple of hours this year and avoided total carnage. It was great to experience all the sights smells and sounds though on an amazing sunny day. Reminds me also of this piece I painted...

It was slightly disappointing that none of the four councillors that represent Southville and Bedminster wards attended the meeting last night. As far as I know as least two had given their apologies. However, Mark Wright, the Lib Dem Councillor for Cabot Ward did attend. So fair play to him. It also appears that two of our four local councillors are Bristol City season ticket holders and so won’t...

I popped by Bristols smallest galley - Friend & Co the other day and checked out Saintys work. I really like it, it's kind of dark and I like how most of it done in black and white with a few splashes of red. Although Sainty is a boy who draws, he is not part of Boys Who Draw but part of the What? collective.

The press still shows that it is out of touch with the American people. As expected, the Sunday talk show circuit the discussion centered around Governor Palin's surprising resignation on Friday. But rather the talk center around whether it was a good or bad move for her political career, it was more of the usual Palin Derangement Syndrome. Take example ABC New's "This Democratic Party Week With...

On Friday I did a day long Graffiti project with my mate Dan and the kids at Brislington Enterprise College in Bristol. The theme was of their house 'Jaguar'. Here's a pic of the finished piece with a couple of old gits hanging out next to it. The kids came up with some wild ideas for what to include in the mural, including this, which sadly got rejected as it is a bit...er mental.

I have just got back from a fabulous Pole Jam at Spin City in Bristol. The jam had been organised by the lovely Spin City owner Kate Johnstone . It was great to share ideas and meet new faces as well as catching up with old friends. I am now slightly bruised and quite achey but really glad I attended the event. Kate's 2 studios are gorgeous and well equipped. I spent most of the time in the first floor...
