Man rescued from bedroom barbecue blaze

Firefighters dragged an unconscious man from a blazing flat - after he lit a barbecue in his bedroom. Neighbours raised the alarm after flames were seen shooting out of the window of the house at Aldershot, Hants. Hampshire Fire Service said it seemed the man, a lodger, had lit a barbecue in his room and fallen asleep. He was taken to hospital.
