Winter Wedding South Ascot and Blue Mountain Golf Club, Binfield, Berkshire

Despite being one of the worst days weatherwise this year, Michelle and Paul's wedding went really well and we managed to get a few breaks in the weather to get some lovely shots of them both. They were a delight to photograph. Started off at the Hilton St Anne's Hotel in Wokingham for some bridal preparation shots and then moved on to the ceremony at St Francis Church in South Ascot, followed by the...

My annual trip south.

Windsor Castle. Leafy Berkshire. The entrance.....no......exit gate (NB the "No Entry" signs!) from Sandhurst Military Academy, viewed through the wet windscreen, as we stopped at traffic lights. " Pyatshaw , Pyatshaw , where have you been?" I've been to London to see the Queen" Well not quite. I was visiting one of my daughters, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren who live in Bracknell...

Observations on A Kind Of Spying

Now please don't get me wrong. I have no intention of becoming the next James Bond (I cant stand vodka martinis for one thing), but a rather surprise by product of me putting a Feejit thingy on OFASI is that it lets me spy on what people have been putting into the search engines before being helplessly and traumatically directed to my crap. It really has given me no end of amusement. I know. I really...

No to West Berks Tory care cuts

Today I launched a massive campaign to increase care for the elderly in West Berkshire where care is significantly different from the care in Reading. This is a postcode lottery. It shouldn’t be that just because you live in West Berkshire you get much worse care than if you live in Reading. Caring and working with the [...]

Waldo's at Cliveden Taplow, Berkshire

"Fine dining" commands a fine setting. The approach to Cliveden is just such a setting. A wide gravel drive passes through acres of woodland to a stunning, vast marble fountain and turns to face a beautiful, grey stone house, with an array of Bentleys and Aston Martins parked in front. The Buckinghamshire stately pile – made infamous by the Profumo affair in the 1960s – is now...

Monday September 16, 1974

Gorgeous morning. Denny and I walk the length of the Long Walk which goes from Windsor Castle to the 'Copper Horse' with King George III sat proudly upon it, a total of three miles. We also walked all the way back. We were completely fagged out. The glorious views of the castle relieved the pain of our aching toes and knees. Came back to Clewer Fields and devoured a massive breakfast with John. Do...
