Whilst in Blackpool last month, I took the bus up to Cleveleys to see what was left of the Riverdance which ran aground at the end of January. The stricken vessel, belonging to Seatruck Ferries had been carrying trucks and trailers from Warrenpoint in Northern Ireland to Heysham in Lancashire, when it was struck by a freak wave. Last week I photographed the boats at Morecambe in the dusk. This week I wanted to catch the light before the sunset. Having spent an hour shooting the fishing boats, I drove further down the Lancashire coast to photograph the setting sun at Heysham (top pic). The sea was calm and although I prefer crashing [...]
