Stop messing about! - # 09/151

You probably wish I would post some nice photos of the Borough of Richmond upon Thames, I can only assure you I'm keen to get back to that point. But it's not always that simple. Anyway, I took a friend out to Barnes Common to play about with some night photography. Things got out of hand and we ended up messing about with the lighting along Barnes railway bridge across the Thames. Sorry!

London's core, the ancient City of London, the 'square mile', retains its medieval boundaries. However, since at least the nineteenth century, the name "London" has also referred to the whole metropolis...

Two instances of the police getting above themselves

Thanks to the wonders of the internet I found out via US blogger Coyote about events in Richmond upon Thames. I used to go into Richmond every Saturday with a gaggle of other eleven year old girls to shop for three hours and eventually buy a notebook with a picture of a cat on it for seventeen and a half pence. Perhaps the place has gone downhill since I knew it: now it seems that...

Bingham Hotel, Restaurant & Bar, Richmond – Review

Fronting the river, approximately 500 metres off the main High Street, you’ll find the rather spectacular Bingham Restaurant & Bar (and Hotel). We’ve been to Richmond Upon Thames for a few restaurant reviews now and have to say that we love the area. Oozing with class, nice bars, great shopping and the River Thames, (which is stunning all year round) we were eager to get back there,...

Wedding of Lyndsey & John, Richmond Hill Hotel, Richmond Upon Thames, Surrey - 11th April 2009

Having lived in Surbiton, Surrey myself for about 25 years since doing my degree at Kingston Poly (in Applied Chemistry would you believe!!!) and moving to live in South Oxfordshire a couple of years ago and continue to be a wedding photographer in Oxford, it was lovely to go back to my old stomping ground of leafy Surrey. The Richmond Hill Hotel has a stunning vista across the famous crescent in the...

Alphabet soup in London’s property conundrum

Some of London’s prime areas include Notting Hill, Chelsea, Bayswater, Kensington, Knightsbridge, St John Wood, Hyde Park and West Hampstead. Savills director Edward Lewis serves up some alphabet soup to give a broad overview of the different areas and how they rate. Instead of an A or...
