You know how it is when you're walking along on a bright autumnal day and something catches your eye - in this instance an aesthetically pleasing bit of tilework. If you see one then it's a moment of interest but to see a few in one place, well that's worth getting your camera out for. That's pretty much what happened to me as I was strolling down a South Wimbledon street the other week. I have to...

There's an intriguing little plaque on the wall overlooking a disused garage in Raynes Park, that has been teasing me for the last few weeks. Every time I came round the corner of Worple Road I could see it high up on the wall on the one-way part of the road. Too far away to read and (thanks to a very solid plywood fence) too difficult to photograph without a telephoto lens. As luck would have it though,...

There are plenty of opportunities to gain spectacular views of Putney, Wandsworth and much of the rest of London from around the consituency, but among the best are those the residents of the Wimbledon Park estate off Albert Drive enjoy. Here's an example of what I mean: it covers pretty much all of Southfields council ward - which runs from the edge of Wimbledon Park right the way up to the Arndale...

Well, by not going to the Hog in the Pound I avoided one more dreary rendition of 'Angels' and people who really can't sing doing so (not saying I can but there are levels and levels of it). Instead went to Streatham, or as it is occasionally dubbed St Reatham, and to the Earl Ferrers . There was beer (Sambrook's Wandle), and Pool, and Cake, because it was a birthday. In four months time she'll be...

I'm not sure what food you could find in Merton though. There's some elderflowers nearby but not many. You can buy Wimbledon honey at the Wimbledon Common windmill or at the National Trust shop at Morden Hall Park. Mind you there's the blackberries. Loads of them.

There are some places where only the rich can afford, where politicians, footballers and Russians congregate. Some of London’s prime areas include Notting Hill, Chelsea, Bayswater, Kensington, Knightsbridge, St John Wood, Hyde Park and West Hampstead. Savills director Edward Lewis serves up some alphabet soup to give a broad overview of the different areas and how they rate. Instead of an A or...

Picture of the 2008 version of the queue via acme's Flickr stream . Last year, when some were caught on the hop, we brought you up to date news about how the queueing system...
