A group of residents in Barking and Dagenham are to protest against Labour Councillor Liam Smith, who reportedly said to a political rival's mother "shut up you f***ing fat dyke" during the count at Chadwell Heath bi-election last month. The Conservatives gained the Barking and Dagenham borough council ward of Chadwell Heath in a byelection on 3 July, thereby doubling their representation on the council and allowing themselves to form a political group. Well at least there’s one bit of good news from last night’s by election in The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Fears of a BNP upsurge on the back of their London Assembly Member, already strong base in the council in B and D and their overtaking Labour last week in Henley were allayed. [...]
