The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has warned employers to ensure they manage health and safety risks in the workplace, following the prosecution of a Thetford company.Tulip Ltd, of Caxton Way in Thetford, was fined £265,000 with £21,653.35 costs, at Norwich Crown Court today (May 21) following several breaches of health and safety regulations.

POLICE teamed up with landowners to foil a rave planned at a barn on the Suffolk-Norfolk border. At one stage as many as 3,000 party-goers were expected to descend on the site in Coney Weston, near Thetford, on Christmas Eve.

THE police have called on villagers to remain vigilant after it emerged ravers were planning to take over a barn on the Suffolk-Norfolk border. Intelligence gleaned by Suffolk police suggests about 3,000 ravers are might turn up at a site in Coney Weston near Thetford on Christmas Eve.

Thetford has something of a penchant for erecting statues to its famous sons and daughters. For the past 30 years, a golden statue to the 18th century revolutionary Enlightenment leader Thomas Paine has stood at the centre of the small Norfolk market town where he was born, alongside the inscription: " Justice is due to every man: I seek no recompense ? I fear no consequences. "
