Essex County Council has been recognised as having the greenest transport of any local authority in the UK , that’s everything from providing services for people with limited mobility, library services, our road repair crews and all the other front line services we deliver. This is down to our radical programme of replacing vehicles with dual fuel vehicles and encouraging our staff to share...

News from Essex where the county's only(?) - certainly biggest - team have now reformed as Rochford Girls . When we started South Essex boasted three girls teams - Basildon, Westcliff and Rochford. We worked quite closely with Rochford in our first season - they even helped out our U17s (as they then were) when we entered the National Sevens for the first time and also developed a very friendly rivalry...

The British press, particularly the downmarket Sun, has never really understood the workings of the Christian Church. Now that we live in an increasingly secular world, knowledge of the Church is virtually non-existent now. To the Sun any person in a clerical collar is a "vicar" regardless of the fact. If they are told that person is a bishop, they may recognise that. But mostly it's vicars...
