This shot of Youngstown, Ohio, follows the script pretty much to the letter… except...

Music Review: Blue Ash - No More, No Less

A true power pop band even before the term existed, Blue Ash's classic album No More, No Less is now available on CD. The Blue Ash story is one of rock’s best kept secrets. Formed in Youngstown, Ohio in 1969, Blue Ash were a powerpop outfit in the same vein as Cleveland’s Raspberries, albeit with a harder edge. Of course, the term “powerpop” hadn’t been coined yet; then it simply meant good...

ytownboy3 says: Sorry to contradict the blog, but Oakey will NOT be appointed to fill the seat. Not going to happen. No way is Youngstown going to have its/their seat filled by an otherwise qualified individual to fill the seat, to assume its voice in the Ohio Senate, even if that is what John Boccierre wants. Go back and look at the history. 1846 and Canfield was the county seat of Mahoning....

Well, I was half right...

Because I'm spending Thanksgiving with my family in Youngstown, I've received word that a deal has already been cut over who should replace Congressman-Elect John Boccieri in the State Senate, and that Alliance City Councilman At-Large Steve Okey is likely to be appointed to fill out the remainder of Boccieri's term.
