Good to see Transport Scotland setting the very highest standards of public probity. This from The Herald " Opposition politicians and unions last night called for an inquiry after a report raised questions of conflict of interest in the award of Scotland's £2.5bn railway franchise. " Concerns arose after Guy Houston quit as finance and corporate services director of Transport Scotland following publication...

It lacks the glamour, and let's face it the global importance, of the US election. But don't let that put you off the struggle being waged in that most curious of corners of Fife (in general the strangest part of Scotland, and I can say that coming from Paisley). These things can hang on a handful of votes. Several points to remember about the possible outcomes on Thursday: 1) If Labour wins, no matter...

I decided to run the Cross Country Relay today. My foot felt okay and as the ground was very wet and boggy I thought it would be alright and it was. I helped marshal for the first few races and then warmed up by running around the course. It looked and felt very wet. Kilbarchan had four teams and I was running third leg after Donald Kennedy and Andrew Clugston. Our team didn't have a fourth runner....

This is a long weekend holiday in Scotland so Katrina has Friday and Monday off school. So on Friday we went for a cycle ride to our friends near Greenock. It was 15miles each way so we had a good ride and a good day. Yesterday was our club's, Kilbarchan AAC , George Cummings Relay at Houston. I was hoping to be able to run but decided against it as my foot is still a little sore. I went along to help...
