Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851)

Turner was an English artist who did most of his work in the first half of the nineteenth century. I'm a fan of most of Turner's paintings but I particularly like the seascapes that show Napoleonic era battleships. John Pieret visited the Turner exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in some big city south of the border. He was mean kind enough to post pictures on his blog at Page Turner.
