Courtesy of Joe C. at the Strib online : Joe Mauer won his first Rawlings Gold Glove Award today, becoming the first Twins catcher to win the award since Earl Battey in 1962. That's a long time coming, but it's hard to find a reason why Mauer doesn't deserve this award.
