Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula One Champion, signed a contract to compete in the Speedcar Series in 2009 for the Durango team. Villeneuve has signed a deal for the entire year, unlike participating in only a couple of races during the 2008 season. The second season of the series will begin this weekend in Dubai.

1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve believes that BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica deserves the title the most from the three current title contenders. According to Villeneuve, Kubica deserves the title as he's the only one who keeps his head cool while his rivals pile up penalties and mistakes.

Aug.13 (GMM) Michael Schumacher has been targeted as the dream addition to the novel stock car racing series Speedcar.
