Rodney Owens, a former neighbor of Ms. Furch, is suspected of killing her at her apartment in east Fort Worth. Police linked him after finding his fingerprint on a piece of duct tape found inside a Dumpster near Ms. Furch's apartment. Investigators also said they found Mr. Owens' DNA inside Ms. Furch's upstairs apartment.

General Motors reported Friday that it intends to shut down its SUV plant in Ohio on December 23. The move is part of the company shift towards smaller vehicles. In closing the plant, General Motors declined tax incentives from the state of Ohio valued at $56 million. The plant current manufactures the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and Saab 9-7X.

Spokesman Chris Lee says the some 1,100 remaining workers were informed Friday afternoon of the closing date. The automaker earlier this year announced plans to close the plant by the summer of 2010 or sooner, then accelerated shutdown plans as part of companywide cost-cutting moves.
