The workers have gathered in the Gdynia shipyard to hear union leaders describe an EU plan to sell the yard's assets and save it from bankruptcy. The plan is meant to repay substantial government subsidies that have kept the shipyard afloat. The EU considers such aid illegal and has ordered it be returned -- a requirement that spells bankruptcy for the Baltic Sea yard.
