Former national team player, Terence Mophuting is dead. Mophuting who played for Gaborone United (GU), BDF XI, Extension Gunners, Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Notwane died on Monday afternoon at Jwaneng Hospital following a short illness.

Deserving youth were last Friday recognised at a glittering ceremony staged at Gaborone's Boipuso Hall where they got awarded for their achievements and excellence. A total of 17 youths and youth organisations battled it out for top prizes in a number of categories at the biannual National Youth Service Awards.

Lawyers acting for two Gaborone nightclubs will this week apply for the jailing of the Commissioner of Police for contempt of court. Others to be cited in the application, for defying a court order, include the Station Commander of Gaborone West Police Station and the section leader of a unit that raided the nightclubs on Friday night.

A baby boy was discovered dumped in the girls' bathrooms wrapped in his placenta at the Gaborone Institute of Health Sciences yesterday. A woman, who is also a cleaner at the institution, discovered the unfortunate baby around lunchtime yesterday when she was doing her rounds of taking the girls' used pads.

A Gaborone West street carpenter, Buyani Palela has said he was assaulted by Gaborone City Council (GCC) employees who were demolishing illegal structures used by informal traders last Saturday. Palela said he is suffering from back pains because of the assault.
