Exmouth A mysterious chest containing nearly 500 old keys has been discovered at one of the National Trust’s quirkiest properties. I went to Exmouth in Devon for the day a couple of weeks ago. Exmouth has been a seaside holiday destination since Georgian times and still has an old fashioned feel about it. There are even donkey rides on the beach! A homemade bike ramp

Had a good break in Devon - one major question that would not leave me - "is this August?" Thoroughly enjoyed Dawlish Warren, Teignmouth and Shalden, the stainglass at Buckfast Abbey, Exmouth, Dartmoor - meeting up with someone who really helped shape my mind at University - Professor Paul Cloke. It was good to read and spend time with the family even though it rained 80-85% of the time!!

Olympic hero Joe Glanfield has added to the tally of Westcountry athletes helping to bring home the medals for Great Britain in Beijing after scooping silver with his sailing partner Nick Rogers. Joe, left, from Exmouth, who learned to sail in Devon's Exe Estuary, finished second in the men's 470 class race yesterday despite a number of setbacks, including an injury.

An East Devon beach is as clean as can be after staff from electricity giant EDF Energy spent a day going over it with a fine toothcomb. Rubbish that had been washed up was collected from Sandy Bay, near Exmouth.
