Former Ferrari grand prix ace Eddie Irvine has dismissed the racist insults aimed at newly-crowned F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton recently as a case of merely 'sticks and stones' - and suggested the McLaren-Mercedes star simply should rise above the abuse.

And he also apparently thinks Lewis Hamilton should drive for Ferrari. Fat chance I would say. Of course, Eddie Irvine was also famous for declaring his status as 'the second best driver in the world,' because, you know, he was Micheal Schumacher's teammate. Seriously, though, how about that hair. Miami has clearly gone to his head.

... If you had designs on the title you wouldn't go. Rubens Barrichello stuck it for six years; Eddie Irvine for four before that. The odd victory here and there allowed Schumacher's minders to leave Ferrari with a reputation for heightened competence. Jaguar and Honda bought into that with tidy sinecures that did very nicely for Irvine and Barrichello, the latter likely to follow...
