Peterson referred all questions to Brodsky. In the past, he has maintained that his wife, then 23, left him for someone else. If I had to wager a guess, I'm betting that the State's Attorney says the barrel is shorter than 16 inches without measuring the flash suppressor which is frequently built into AR-15 rifles.
