Devon Energy more than triples its third-quarter profit

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Devon Energy Corp. said Wednesday its third-quarter net earnings jumped to $2.6 billion, or $5.87 a share, from $735 million, or $1.63 a share, in the year-ago period.
