"Here We Go Again" -- Is America Facing Great Depression II?

I know, I know...it's downright unpatriotic (almost irreligious) to question the efficiency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. But several researchers, daring to venture into facts rather than mythical fancies, are realizing that the financial acumen of the sainted FDR was considerably less than what the Democrats, the MSM and your sophomore history teacher has led you to believe. Perhaps key among...

When in March 1933, a few months after Coolidge gave up the ghost, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was inaugurated president, people looked forward to audacious changes, even if they had little or no idea just what, in concrete terms, that might mean. If Coolidge, an iconic representative of the old order, knew that the ancien régime was dead, millions of ordinary Americans...

Your Weekend Moment of Psychic Nosebleed Zen: Narcopolis

I was pretty sure I knew what was going on in Narcopolis — at least for the first three issues — but the farther I read in the last issue, the more I felt that understanding slipping away. When I finished the story, I was pretty sure Delano really didn’t know what was going [...]

Big personalities join Obama’s foreign policy team

... Roosevelt’s Rough Riders, Knox attained prominence as a Chicago newspaperman, branding Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s economic agenda “alien and un-American” and repeatedly proclaiming its failure. MHG Sez FTR & TripAdvisor Sez Mind Your Manners!

... Especially for their hotels in Los Angeles (Mondrian) and Miami Beach (Mondrian, Shore Club and Delano), where this kind of thing could really take off, if word spreads around about the ‘recess parties’. New York, I’m afraid, is too far gone into hibernation to be revived with this kind of gimmick. Only thing that’s going to wake up the City that never sleeps is a healthy infusion of cash....

La cerveza de Caguama es aceptable, pero voy a pegarme con la corona.

Despite all of the Chelada, Tecate, Del Sol, Corona, and other imported mexican beers I consumed during my time in Delano, I never tried Caguama. In fact, I don’t even remember seeing it in the stores.Fresno stores have it though, and I bought a six pack awhile back. ‘Caguama’ is slang for the loggerhead [...]
