Roy Cropper is, as we know, a bit of a steam train buff. David Neilson, who plays him, has just been given honorary membership of Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry - which entitles him to discounted and free entry to museum exhibitions and events, including rides on steam trains.

Coronation Street lost out to Channel 4's Shameless at the Royal Television Society North West awards for Best Continuing Drama but several of the stars were out on the red carpet for the even anyway. and a gallery including photos of Jennie McAlpine, Katherine Kelly and David Neilson who was a presenter for the Judges' Award.
