NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Clorox Co. said Friday that its fiscal first-quarter profit rose to $128 million, or 91 cents a share, from $111 million, or 76 cents, a year earlier. Sales rose to $1.38 billion from $1.24 billion. Excluding non-recurring items, Clorox said it would have earned 95 cents a share.
