I took this photo looking west from South Kostner Avenue near West 53rd Street on Chicago's southwest side. This was the Chicago Transit Authority's Orange line rapid transit to Midway Airport during the construction. These concrete piers were just recently poured. The CTA Orange line opened in 1993.

I took this photo one day in early March of 2006. A CTA Brown line train enroute to downtown Chicago, is seen arriving at the old Addison Street station. This station is located just west of North Ashland Avenue, and would soon close due to the upcoming CTA Brown line reconstruction project.
