Open Text, which is buying U.S.-based Captaris for $131-million (U.S.), said the combined company expects to shed about 10 per cent of its jobs. The move will result in a $20-million restructuring charge. Open Text said that Captaris shareholders voted in favour of the takeover on Oct. 31.
