The Bakersfield Jam announced the team’s opening day roster for the 2008-09 season. The Jam, an affiliate of the Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic, will begin their third season in the NBA D-League when the team tips off Friday on the road against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

Two men thrown out of a bar on Buck Owens Boulevard allegedly decided to get revenge by returning to the scene two hours later with a canister of pepper spray. After pepper-spraying the men they had argued with earlier, the men sped away in a Jeep and nearly ran over a woman and several security guards, Bakersfield police said.
