This appears to be the Year of the Bus Driver under center. That's how Bill Parcells famously described the job requirements for a quarterback. He didn't want the guy behind the wheel of his offense revving the engine, hugging the corners or trying to stop on a dime. Better to have someone who'd just keep the whole operation on the road and out of a ditch.
