TERRE HAUTE » Bemis Co., a Terre Haute manufacturer that makes plastic film, plans to lay off about 100 workers next month, citing a larger than normal seasonal drop in orders. One of its major products is plastic overwrap for packages of bottled water. Bemis employs about 1,000 workers in Terre Haute. The layoffs will be effective Dec. 1.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Bemis Co. said Tuesday its third-quarter profit totaled $44.3 million, or 44 cents a share, up from $41.0 million, or 40 cents a share, in the same quarter a year before.
